Brown County Humane Society

History

Brown County Humane Society (BCHS) was founded in 1997 with the mission to prevent cruelty in animals, help the helpless, and to extend humane education. In the year 2015, BCHS was able to buy a shelter. However, it was not yet suitable to be used as a Humane Society. So BCHS began the long process of demolition, construction, cleaning, painting and more.  They couldn't do it alone though; with the help of Brad Rosenberger and his crew of J&B Contractors they were able to complete the demolition and install 8 new concrete kennels. As of 2016, the shelter had a total of 14 dog kennels, 2 cat rooms, and 6 cat kennels.
